PTP Certificate Program

Receive a PTP certificate by attending PTP classes! Successful participation for five years in the certificate program qualifies one for the PTP diploma.

There is no additional charge.

32 hours of instruction per year.

The Process:

Step 1:

Choose your track

  • Preachers (Dean: B.J. Clarke)
  • Elders (Dean, Alan Highers)
  • Deacons (Dean, Mike Winkler)
  • Youth Workers (Dean, David Shannon)
  • Bible Teachers, Women’s Studies (Dean, Jeanny Gilpin)
  • Women’s Studies (Dean, Shelia Butt)
  • Marriage/Family (Dean, Glenn Colley)
  • Evangelism/Missions (Dean, Tex Stevens)
  • Ministry/Technology (Dean, Dale Jenkins)
  • Teen (Dean, Eric Lyons)

Step 2:

Sign up for the program by filling out the online form (linked at the bottom of this page) or call Kelli Sewell at 877.338.3397. You may also see Kelli the registration table at the event.

Step 3:

  • Attend 20 track classes and 12 elective classes.
  • Arrive on time.
  • Sign in on your personal clipboard (provided when you sign up).
  • If possible share on Twitter or Facebook which class you are currently in before the session starts, or tweet a quote from the class during or after. The format should be "insert quote or class name here" followed by "#PTP2011" or "@PTP2011" Let's try to make PTP a trending topic on twitter.
  • Take appropriate notes (a page per class on average)
  • Keep a notebook of these personal notes and any handouts/materials distributed. You can bring your own, or we will have PTP notebooks available for purchase at the event. If you take notes on a laptop or tablet, then your notes should be edited/cleaned up and in a useable form.
  • If your track has fewer than 20 classes (e.g., evangelism), you may substitute similar classes from other tracks (e.g., many preacher's track classes are about evangelism, etc.)
  • Worship services/keynotes count as electives

Step 4:

At end of PTP, you must return your clipboard with a signed honor code sheet (provided) with the list of the classes your attended, and a statement that your notes are assembled in proper order. (You do not turn in your notebook.)

If you missed a required class, or were short a class(s), you can purchase a CD(s) and take notes from it (them). (We prefer you do this BEFORE the end of PTP.)

Step 5:

Your certificate will be signed by your “dean” and mailed to you after PTP.
